The San Francesco complex is situated in a charming location, and looks out on to the most beautiful and largest stretch of beach on the Amalfi coast, rich is historical and artistic features and breathtaking landscapes. The guest house "Amici di San Francesco", an annexe to the convent (founded in 1405) and beautiful church, is located in a splendid orchard of citrus trees and floral gardens, at the back of the garden there is the evocative "Grotta di San Bernardino" whit a natural spring which the saint brought about from the rock for the needs of the Maiori inhabitants. This scenery was chosen by the film director Roberto Rossellini for the setting of some of his films in the neo-realism period, in particular "Paisà". The complex managed with Franciscan simplicity but with great care and affection, offers ecclesiastic groups the search for God, in in autumn, winter and spring periods. In the summer, it's highly sought after destination for relaxing holidays in a fraternal environment, especially for families and the elderly, close to a clear and enchanted sea. The house is composed of 24 rooms, with a total of 55 beds, in single, double and triple rooms and six single rooms for a priests and religious persons. The complex is provided whit conference rooms, a secular public library and a small theatre, an extensive lemon garden full of flowers, a private car park, and access to the beach opposite (payable locally). All rooms have own bathroom, satellite and terrestrial tv, telephone and minibar and in addition our guests are offered the wonderful opportunity of tasting typical dishes of the Campania region, prepared whit great passion and care by our staff.
